In therapy, people often report anxiety, depression, health concerns, and relationship stress, but don’t realize that so much of this stems back to their level of honesty. The kind of honesty I am referring to here is the kind that makes you squirm just thinking about it; you know… it's the things you secretly think about but never say aloud.
It’s true that it can be very scary to be that honest as most people are afraid of what others will think of them. We would rather preserve our image than take a risk that could make all the difference. But the truth is, if we don't get truly honest, we will experience some version of the consequences listed above. Your body will find some way to express the secrets you are holding.
So have the courage to say what you mean and watch the results unfold.
